I grew up in the tiny little town of Van Buren, OH with my parents and sister. My artistic nature was nurtured from a very early age and I received all the support I could ask for from all my family and friends. So much so, that I have rarely thought of doing anything else with my life.
When I left high school in 2001, I spent my first year of higher education at Huntington College in Indiana. I made some of the best friendships of my life that year and wouldn't trade it for a thing, but academically I needed an art department containing more than four professors. So I decided to return home to Ohio and transfer to Bowling Green State University.
It has always been my tendency to make family foremost in my life, so I did finally graduate with my BFA in 2008, but not before marrying my wonderful husband and giving him two gorgeous twin baby girls. Now I divide my time between my family (my full time job), my part time job, and my portraits. It’s a crazy life, but I love it.
